I haven't posted here in ages and there are a thousand things I need to catch up on in LJ land once my life calms down at the end of the quarter. But I had to post tonight because I just watched history happen. I am so fucking PROUD of my country right now.
Every single one of you who talked to your family and friends about that guy with the funny name, who knocked on doors, who made phone calls, who did data entry, blogged, made videos, spread the word, every person who waited in line to cast your vote - sit back and just take a moment. We did this you guys. Not the lobbiest, or the party insiders, or the wealthy few. US. We took our government back. When I was watching the results come in and I saw Ohio go blue I honestly teared up. I was a part of that.
It was 11 months ago yesterday that Obama won the Iowa primary. The pundits said it would never happen. They'd pretty much given the nomination to Clinton. Look at where we are now.
Tonight is our night to celebrate. Tomorrow is a new day, America. Tomorrow we roll up our sleeves and get started. We've got work to do.
